Summary
Workshop for migrant children about memories of their favourite places from their hometowns. The drawings, texts, and stories collected will be compiled into an interactive map.
About
Can a map exist without borders, physical territory, or scale? What are memories? Do they depend on the time and place of origin? During the workshop, we will delicately recall with the children those places from their homeland that reside in their memories. It could be an old gnarled oak tree or a small bench near their home, a café where the scent of pastries always lingers... We will reminisce about these places, sketch them, write texts about them, and record audio stories from each participant. Following the completion of the workshop program, we will compile all the gathered data into a virtual interactive map. A map of an imaginary country without borders, presidents, or conflicts. A map brimming with love for these places, through which one can travel in time and space.
Suitable for children aged 2-10
