Six at Walsh’s Shop is an exhibition of black and white photographs taken of Robe Villa, Ballinrobe in 1980 by Hugh Doran.
Hugh Doran (1926 – 2004) was an amateur photographer and a printer by profession who spent his working life in Arthur Guinness & Co. In 1959 Desmond Guinness asked him to photograph country houses for an Irish Georgian Society exhibition. The Hugh Doran Collection was acquired by the Irish Architectural Archive in 2005 in accordance with his wishes and includes photographs of his visit to Mayo in 1980 including photographs taken in Ballinrobe and Westport.
